Becoming a member : why and how?
Joining Batribox means becoming part of a network of players committed to the sustainable management of used batteries. By transferring your regulatory obligations to an approved eco-organization, you become a player in the circular economy, while complying with your legal responsibilities. Let's turn your used batteries into resources!
What is an eco-organization?
Under the principle of EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), companies are responsible for the entire life cycle of the equipment they manufacture or distribute, from design to recycling. They are therefore required to organize the end-of-life of their products, to limit their environmental impact and preserve natural resources.
Batribox is a state-approved eco-organization for the EPR portable batteries and accumulators sector.

E-mobility players: how to join?
In 2020, Batribox created the e-mobility voluntary channel to give a second life to batteries for small electric mobility equipment, offering its expertise to producers, distributors and rental companies throughout France. Batribox helps you meet regulatory obligations (proper management, safety, compliance).
Batribox has set up a partnership with the Fédération Professionnelle de la Micro-Mobilité and the Ecologic eco-organization to offer Federation members a single interface for declaring equipment, and pooled collection.
For industrial batteries outside the scope of the e-mobility sector, Batribox offers an industrial take-back service for batteries weighing over 5kg.
Do you have to join an eco-organization?
If you place batteries, accumulators or appliances containing them on the French market, you are subject to regulations. Whether you are a manufacturer, importer or distributor, your company must make a financial contribution to the end-of-life of these products.
Membership of an eco-organization for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE ) does not cover EPR for portable batteries and accumulators. If your company is concerned, you need to join two separate eco-organizations.
For industrial batteries outside the scope of the e-mobility sector, Batribox offers an industrial take-back service for batteries weighing over 5kg.
