Why recycle batteries?
Batteries are ubiquitous in our daily lives: over a billion are put on the market every year in France. They contain precious materials such as zinc, cobalt and nickel, and therefore represent a crucial challenge for the environment and the economy.
Recycling these devices enables these elements to be extracted and reused, thereby helping to :- Conserving natural resources.
- Avoid intensive extraction.
- Promoting the circular economy.
Sorting and processing batteries is another way of preventing pollution. Thrown away, they threaten the ecosystem by contaminating air, soil and water.
Beyond its environmental impact, recycling is also part of a sustainable development approach that limits dependence on imported raw materials, while supporting a local industrial sector that creates jobs.
